Why Is Home Staging Important + 3 Staging Tips From Top Agents

Home staging is a real estate marketing strategy where Realtors, homeowners, or professional home stagers furnish a home for sale with furniture and decor to sell or rent the home faster. The goal of home staging is to help potential buyers or renters visualize themselves living happily in the home.

Nayarit Living now has several properties for long-term rental and for sale. We see first hand the importance of staging a home properly. When a home is clean, freshly painted, well staged, well loved, you can be sure to attract attention and even command more money.

Here are 3 staging tips from top agents:

1. Stage Every Room With a Distinct Purpose Always stage your rooms with one purpose and one purpose only. If you don’t, you’ll break the fantasy. Also, try to remain neutral as to appeal to more than one audience.

2. Add plants to every space.

Plants bring life, oxygen and depth to a room. It's also a great and affordable way to fill an empty space. If there's no sun in a space, purchase artificial plants as they've come a long way. I have purchased many different types of artificial plants from Amazon and I love them!

3. Use Mirrors or Reflective Art to Add More Light & Depth to a Room

I have to admit that I love mirrors, especially in small spaces. I think my last house had over 30 mirrors. Placing a mirror on a mantle or leaning against a wall can instantly add light and depth to any room. However, mirrors can also be statement pieces that can work as affordable focal points for a room. Here are some of my favourite mirrors on Amazon.

If you're looking for help in either staging your rental, your home, or your investment property, consider Nayarit Living.
